The AIG companies and AARBIS, AIG’s program administrator, have contracted with two exceptional Preferred Provider Networks (PPO Networks), Beech Street and National Preferred Provider Network (NPPN) to provide the broadest national coverage possible. The networks include more than 600,000 physicians, 4,500 hospitals and 70,000 ancillary providers.  

These PPO networks provide all PlatinumPLUS participants with discounts on Doctor, hospital and facility services. Any network discounts are in addition to the benefits paid under the policy. See the examples immediately below.  The employee has total control over a choice of a physician or facility; however, IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO NOTE that while a covered person can use providers in or out of the network, the network discount is only available when using in-network providers.

Be advised of other advantages: Because this a limited benefit plan and not traditional health coverage, there are none of the typical managed care restrictions or administrative headaches, like referral authorizations and authorizations to see a specialist or receive a treatment. And, there are no deductibles or co-payment features with which the employee must deal. Whatever balance is left, after imposition of the policy benefit payment and the discount/credit from network, is what the employee is held responsible and liable to pay.
