The PlatinumPLUS Plan includes an AIG designed Group Accident and Sickness Insurance Policy. It is a Limited Benefit or Scheduled Benefit accident and sickness indemnity plan. This means the plan pays fixed benefit amounts for the medical services received as the result of a health condition or accident (including emergencies).
PlatinumPLUS also provides three “non insurance” type benefits that add great value:

-
A Prescription Drug program, exclusive to AIG that provides discounts on both brand and generic drugs. This program is offered through Walgreen’s Health Initiative and dispensed through well over 98% of the pharmacies countrywide (including pharmacies at Wal-Mart, Costco, Sav-On, et cetera).

Any amount charged for medical services—by a Doctor, Hospital or other health care provider—that exceeds the scheduled Plan payment, as well as the PPO discount if the employee takes advantage of utilizing the PPO Network, are the Employee’s responsibility. Although there are no maximum limits, either annual lifetime, there are limits placed on the extent of medical services under the various plans offered, as well as monetary limits on those services. The employee should refer to the Certificate of Insurance to determine the specific coverages offered under the selected plan and the dollar levels associated with those coverages. Finally, some of the benefits described in this guide may not be included in your organization’s specific schedule of benefits.
American All Risk Benefit Insurance Services, Inc. (AARBIS) administers the PlatinumPLUS Plan on behalf of AIG once a plan has been purchased. If an Employer or Employee has any question, or requires clarification or information, the Employer or Employee should call AARBIS toll free at (866) 604-6445.
